www wednesday #15

hello dreamy reader, i hope you’re doing well! it’s been a while and i won’t go into too much details but basically we can blame uni. however, i’m super excited to be back and hopefully i’m here to stay because i’ve missed this! i’ve made some little changes to my blog and i hope you enjoy the way it looks.
www wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words where bloggers share (1) what they’re currently reading, (2) what they recently finished reading, and (3) what they think they’ll read next.

what are you currently reading?

i’m currently 74% into The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood. i kept seeing this book on booktok and, as a STEM person myself, i was intrigued enough to pick it up. i’m enjoying it so far, but it’s definitely not a 5 star read. i’ll probably finish it very, very soon.

what did you recently finish reading?

up till recently, i was in my biggest reading slump ever. i hadn’t finished a book in 3 months. i did a 24hr readathon with my discord members, and i finally finished The Devil Makes Three by Tori Bovalino. i ended up rating it 2.5 stars. it pained me because it had so much potential. the summary felt like something i would really enjoy as i’m a big fan of dark academia and fantasy. unfortunately, it did not work for me. i was bored for most of the book and even thought about dnf’ing it at some point. i enjoyed the writing style but did not feel a connection to any of the characters, and to me it felt like there was no chemistry between the main characters either. the pacing also felt wrong which is why it took me so long to finish it. of course, the reading slump did not help.

what do you think you’ll read next?

i recently acquired a physical copy of the stunning Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao. my friends have been talking about this book almost non-stop since its release, which already intrigued me. but after seeing a tiktok video from the author describing the “aesthetics” of their book, i just knew i had to get it. so i’m going to buddy-read this with the lovely Kate @ Reading Through Infinity as soon as we’re done with our current reads.

let’s chat

    1. thank you Caro, it feels good to be back! ❤ The Love Hypothesis is fun but definitely not worth all the hype it’s getting in my opinion. but i’m also not the biggest fan of smut so i’m biased lmao and i hope you enjoy The Nature of Witches! i have been eyeing that one…
